The FDZ tester
The FDZ-Tester is designed and manufactured by Dr. Kurt Mueller to replace mechanical scales or other equipment, which have been used to measure the “Federzahl” (deflection in mm @ load x 10) of domes and suspensions.
The FDZ-Tester is an ideal tool to control the ongoing production of soft parts, but also to perform the incoming inspection at the transducer manufacturer. Due to the optimized test procedures, we can guarantee a high level of precision and repeatability without destroying the part.
The FDZ-Tester is programmed to apply a weight of 10g, 50g, 100g or 200g. The precision of a FDZ measurement is about +/-0.025 per step, which means +/-0.0025 mm. The maximum upper position is +35 mm.
You can see the result of the measurement on the display. Another option is to connect the FDZ via USB to your computer and display the complete Force-Deflection chart of the measurement.

The RFT-200
The RFT-200 from Dr. Kurt Müller has been designed to offer an easy way for resonance-testing of suspensions up to 200 mm in diameter. The one-touch functionality brings fast and consistent results and a user-friendly interface. The graphical user panel shows the
resonance frequency,
- graph of the amplitude over frequency,
- air-temperature and
- air humidity.
This all-in-one setup combines a micro-controller, amplifier, and laser sensor. The microcontroller reads out the suspension’s response to the generated sinusoidal sweep. By comparing the amplitude values per frequency, the resonance frequency can be determined. Specifications:
